This webinar will highlight the importance of vitamin D for disease prevention throughout a person's lifetime.
Discussions will include what it means to be vitamin-D deficient and effective ways to treat and prevent the deficiency, based on the Endocrine Society’s Clinical Practice Guidelines. The webinar will also discuss the role of vitamin D for bone health, immunomodulation, and its importance during pregnancy for both mother and child.
Some of the risk factors associated with vitamin D deficiency include autoimmune disorders, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, neurocognitive dysfunction including Alzheimer's disease, and deadly cancers. In addition, recent evidence suggests further risks of vitamin D deficiency include infectivity, morbidity, and mortality associated with COVID-19.
Discussions will be held in English.
