Press Releases Dean of CPP Leads E-atelier Sponsored by IPPA

Dr. Leslie A. Pal, Dean of the College of Public Policy (CPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, led an e-atelier on June 4-8 on the topic of “Policy Transfer: Models and Modalities”. The event was sponsored by the International Public Policy Association (IPPA), of which Dr. Pal is the Vice-President. 

Dr. Pal was joined by a group of seven PhD students from Iran, Brazil, Netherlands, Kenya, Italy, Mexico, and Cameroon to explore the literature on the topic and applications in their doctoral research projects. 

Their projects cover a variety of topics, including truck transport regulation, energy and artificial intelligence, anti-fake news legislation, participatory budgeting, extractive industries, and educational policy in Latin America. Dr. Pal’s most recent book in the field is Public Policy Transfer: Micro-Dynamics and Macro-Effects (2017), co-edited with Magdalena Hajiisky and Christopher Walker.
