In this seminar, the documented history of of the Nile basin's regional climate will be discussed. Explanations will be made based on the analysis of the role of of the variations in the solar radiation in shaping the regional climate over North Africa.

The seminar will seek to address the root causes of the current conflict on the Nile water.

It will be delivered by Dr. Elfatih Eltahir, Breene M. Kerr Professor of Hydrology and Climate at MIT; and professor of civil and environmental engineering at MIT.
