Understanding the Dynamics of the Uk’s Relations with Qatar and the Gulf in the 21st Century

The UK’s relations with the GCC, and Qatar in particular, have witnessed a marked growth in the last decade.  Greater trade and investment means that GCC as a whole is the UK’s third largest market after the EU and US. The recent formation of the UK-Qatar Typhoon Squadron further marks the growth in military and security relations between the two countries. The UK is second home to many Gulf nationals and their destination of choice for investment and higher education abroad.

This talk will highlight the changing dynamics and increased ties between the UK and the Gulf State countries.
