CPP Professor Discusses Professional Insights at Astana Civil Service Hub

Dr. Kim Moloney, Assistant Professor at the College of Public Policy at HBKU, gave a speech at the Astana Civil Service Hub (ASCH) Annual Conference on Public Service Development and Cooperation on October 27. The three-day conference was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and ASCH, which promotes and supports civil service effectiveness throughout Central Asia and further afield by building institutional and human capacity. The conference attracted more than 100 participants along with speakers from government ministries, embassies, international organizations, civil society, and academia from both the region and around the world.

Dr. Moloney was invited to provide remarks during a panel titled “Professional Insights and Reflections”, moderated by Alikhan Baimenov, Chairman of the ACSH Steering Committee. She was asked to reflect upon her experience as an academic within the sub-discipline of comparative public administration, her experience writing as an academic and/or practitioner in 11 countries, the lessons learned, and its interaction with the development of theory and practice within comparative public administration.

CPP has also extended its congratulations to ASCH for the recent three-year renewal of its mission by the Republic of Kazakhstan. Under a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Hub in 2020, CPP is expected to have more interactions in the future, including research projects and case studies.
