CPP Professor Participates in Family Relations Conference

Dr. Anis Ben Brik, Associate Professor at the College of Public Policy (CPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and founding director of the Program for Social Policy Evaluation and Research (PROSPER), will participate in the 2021 National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) Annual Conference. Taking place between October 27 and November 2, the virtual event will bring together academics, students and practitioners with an interest in family science and related topics.

Based around the theme of The Science of Families: Nurturing Hope, Happiness, & Health, the 2021 NCFR Annual Conference will feature a mix of research presentations and panel discussions. 

Dr. Ben Brik has been invited as a speaker for the symposium titled Impact of Science and Technology on Parenting Behaviors and Services from an International Perspective. He will also be presenting on Impact of Technology on Parents and Children amid the COVID 19 Pandemic in the Middle East and North Africa. In addition, Dr. Ben Brik is the co-organizer and discussant of the panel COVID-19 and Family Life around the Globe: Relationship Quality, Child Well-Being, Family Resilience, and Family Policy, where he will present his papers on related topics. He will also present his papers at two other panels: Parenting during COVID-19, where he will touch on the effects of the pandemic on parents' mental health and child anxiety in the Gulf region; and Emerging Research on the Effects of COVID-19 on Family Processes and Mental Health, where he will discuss family life during the pandemic in the Middle East and North Africa region.
