Biography

Fadel Tissir graduated in Biology from University Sidi Mohammed ben Abdellah, Fes, Morocco; and earned his MSc degree from Liège University and PhD from the Free University of Brussels, Belgium. He worked as a postdoc on genetic factors predisposing to psychiatric disorders at the University of Antwerp from 1998 to 2000.

He authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and serves as a regular reviewer for many journals including Nature, Science, Nature Neuroscience, Nature Communications, PNAS, and funding agencies. He is a member of several scientific societies and editor at eLife and Frontiers in Neuroscience.

Research Interests

  • Assess the role of DIAPH3 in glioblastoma development and progression.
  • Explore the relationship between DIAPH3 expression levels and sensitivity to temozolomide chemotherapy.
  • Evaluate the impact of CELSR1 mutations on cognitive functions.
  • Investigate the role of CELSR2/3 during development and regeneration of the nervous system.
