The Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is hosting a workshop on industry trends and advancements in the robotic cleaning of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules in desert environments.
Humidity and dust pose a major challenge for PV performance in desert climates, decreasing the efficiency of the solar panels. To address that, automated robots are widely employed in desert regions for cleaning solar panels and facades.
Discussions will cover topics related to industry adoption, technology trends, impacts on modules, testing standards, and future research needs.
