From the Controversy on Secularism to the Future of Humanity: On Islam and Posthumanism

03Dec2019

In the modern stage of post humanity, scientific and practical experimentation is freed from the constraints of societal and religious values.

In spite of important discoveries – that do much good for human lives – the post-humanity stage has produced real problems for the future of man and nature. The escalation of secular and religious extremism and racism have culminated in excessive violence, whether practiced by regimes, as the actions of illegal armed movements, or professional murder for profit. Some of the other fateful threats to human life are climate change and the new generation weapons of mass destruction.

This lecture sheds light on what is unfolding in the world today in the turn of post-humanity and its repercussions for Arab and Islamic reality. The lecture will create a space for trans-disciplinary thinking on rationalizing this wave in favor of a better future for humanity.
