HBKU is an emerging research University that acts as a catalyst for transformative change in Qatar and the region while having global impact.

Open ranks in Islamic studies

The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) was established as a home for contemporary Islamic studies with the aim of becoming a hub for exceptional faculty and students who engage in meaningful dialogue about Islam and Muslims. It offers two dynamic graduate programs: an MA in Islamic studies and an MS in Islamic finance (with multiple specializations). Plans are also underway to offer PhD degrees in these two areas. The college houses several distinguished research centers and brings together scholars and thought leaders from around the world.

Positions

CIS is inviting applications for open ranks in the field of Islamic studies, and is seeking to immediately hire a professor in Quranic studies.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have a relevant PhD degree from a globally recognized and reputable university.
  • Possess a strong teaching and research record.
  • Possess a strong command of both the Arabic and English languages.

All candidates are expected to contribute, through teaching, research and service, to HBKU becoming a world-class research university. They are expected to collaborate with other faculty members and students to create a vibrant university community.

Remuneration
