Biography

Rima Isaifan has received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in Canada in 2014. She has joined Hamad Bin Khalifa University in 2015 as a scientist and later on as the Head of Journals and Academic Publishing. She has more than 50 peer-reviewed published articles. She is experienced in heterogeneous catalysis with nanomaterials for air pollution control. Her current research focuses on the characterization of air pollutants, their source apportionment and the estimation of health impact and burden of disease for long and short-term exposure to air pollution. She holds several certificates in Climate Change policy, finance, mitigation and planning from The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and The United Nations Habitat for a Better Urban Future. She has recently received her professional certificate from Harvard University in The Health Effects of Climate Change. In addition to her role as the Head of Academic publishing, she is at a joint faculty appointment with The College of Science & Engineering at HBKU, an Associate Professor at Cambridge Corporate University/Switzerland, a panel reviewer for Qatar National Research Fund, and is a member of the Environmental Health Task Force at the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar.
