Biography

Dr Remy Thomas holds a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from the Cochin University of Science and Technology, India. In 2006, she was awarded a Ph.D. in Cancer Genetics from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, India. Her doctoral work focused on the clinical relevance of tumor suppressor genes in human brain tumors with a particular focus on the retinoblastoma gene. During her PhD, she successfully published in national and international journals and received various awards at international conferences. Following her PhD, she undertook the positionn of Lecturer in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology for (under)graduate students in Mahatma Gandhi University, India. Subsequently, she held Research Associate positions at the University of Miami, USA and at the Weill Cornell Medicine College, Qatar. Dr Remy Thomas joined Dr. Julie Decock’s team in 2015 and is involved in several projects related to the role of the cancer immune environment in breast cancer prognosis and treatment.
