Led by Dr. Hyung-Goo Kim
Dr. Kim's current focus is the identification of new disease-genes for neurological disorders to elucidate their underlying mechanism. This will not only enable accurate molecular diagnosis and a better prognosis, but also contribute to eventual development of medical and therapeutic interventions.
He is currently working on the following projects:
Project 1: Disease gene discovery in autosomal dominant syndromic and non-syndromic autism and intellectual disability.
Project 2: Disease gene discovery in autosomal recessive syndromic and non-syndromic autism, intellectual disability, hearing loss, polydactyly, skeletal anomalies, blindness and dwarfism.
Project 3: Identification of disease genes involved in body integrity identity disorder (BIID).
Project 4: Development of high-sensitivity DNA genosensor detecting low-dose radiation.
