To explore two main areas within breast cancer research. The first area is the identification of genetic determinants of non-BRCA1/2-linked familial breast cancer, with the second area being the search for novel biomarkers for diagnosis, prognosis, and prediction of therapy response of breast cancer. The ultimate goal of the program is to identify novel biomarkers for breast cancer that contribute to the improvement of patient survival in Qatar and the MENA region.
This program aims to (1) develop diagnostic and predictive biomarkers for infection, COVID-19 complications and immunity, (2) identify the therapeutic potential for preventing infection and treating COVID-19 using in-house tools and models, and (3) build capacity for research, development and innovation and foster preparedness in Qatar against coronaviruses.
