The colloquium, addressing the Middle Eastern culture being defined and driven by digital culture, will discuss the multiple uses of big data and computation techniques.

This colloquium is jointly conducted by Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Law and Public Policy in collaboration with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The colloquium will address the Middle Eastern culture as being defined and driven by digital culture. It aims to discuss the multiple uses of big data and computation techniques in humanities, public policymaking and the law as well as understand how the humanities and the law can help improve the collection and use of such data. Digital humanities is a diverse and growing field of research that brings digital tools and computing methodologies to the study of humanities. Big data has opened up new avenues to study social and political phenomena.
