HBKU Student Life Awards Honor Community Service and Leadership

Awards recognized students who made noteworthy extra-curricular contributions to the HBKU community

The HBKU Office of Student Affairs honoring the Student Life Awards recipients for playing active roles in the community, promoted engagement, and lent vibrancy to student life.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Office of Student Affairs honored members of its student body who played active roles in the university’s community and beyond the scope of their academic work at the 2023 Student Life Awards.

The annual event commemorates exemplary students who demonstrated service to the local community, promoted engagement and lent vibrancy to HBKU student life, displayed remarkable leadership capabilities in their work, or represented the university admirably in sports or competitions in other fields.

“On behalf of the HBKU community, I congratulate these socially responsible individuals on their remarkable achievements and express our gratitude for their commitment toward making a positive impact on the people around them. The Office of Student Affairs not only hosts the Student Life Awards to enshrine their achievements, but also to inspire their fellow students to contribute to and engage with the HBKU community,” said Dr. Maryam Hamad Al Mannai, Vice President of Student Affairs, HBKU. 

In total, 10 winners each received a prize of QR 5,000, with the awards being given to two students each:

  • Community Service Award: Sundus Saeed, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Aldiyar Zhiyentayev, College of Public Policy
  • Community Engagement Award: Noor Yusuf, College of Science and Engineering, and Muhammad Abdur Rehman, College of Public Policy
  • Leadership Award: Aymen Aiblu, College of Islamic Studies, and Adnan Khan, College of Science and Engineering
  • Competitions Award: Angelin Philip, College of Health and Life Sciences, and Muhammad Fazlurrahman Syarif, College of Islamic Studies
  • Sports Award: Saad Hameed, College of Science and Engineering, and Nadira Salsabila, College of Science and Engineering
