Dr. Saravanan (Sara) Thirumuruganathan is a Scientist in the Data Analytics group at the Qatar Computing Research Institute. He received his PhD in 2015 from the University of Texas at Arlington. His interdisciplinary research focuses on cross pollinating ideas between databases and machine learning to solve important problems. His work has received a number of awards including Best Demonstration at the International Conference on Data Engineering (ICDE) 2019, Best Paper of Very Large Data Bases (VLDB) 2018 and 2012, and Special Interest Group on Management of Data (SIGMOD) Research highlights 2018.
